The weather has finally moderated here in central Pennsylvania, along with the rest of the county time to load up the dogs and do some traveling. We sell several good dog crates here at Lion Country Supply, but my personal favorite for travel purposes is the line of Midwest Folding Crates.

I was lucky to get a chance to field test the new Garmin Tri-Tronics PRO 70 on a few of my beagles. I was very impressed with the feel of the transmitter which is very simple to the G3 Classic I have used for years. The toggle switch which changes the button setup has the collar colors shown opposed to a circle and a dot, which in my opinion is easier to tell what collars you are transmitting to. The PRO 70 also comes with a bark limiter, this alone is one feature that I have always wished someone added onto one of the training systems.

The PRO Trashbreaker is now the longest range remote collar with an unprecedented 4 mile line of sight range. Using the Garmin Alpha 100 we found this unbelievable claim to be true although we did our test in the field without line of sight. The PRO Trashbreaker works off of a different radio signal from previous Trashbreaker units.

We had an excellent hunting season this last year. I was able to really put some time on my hounds. When running them as much as I do, we are bound to run into health issues. This past season brought something I had never seen in my 40 years of running these little hounds.

As I was going about my duties today, my mind wandered to the upcoming Armed Forces Day (May 17th) and Memorial Day (May 26th). We are getting deep into the field trialing season here in the Northeast and everyone is raring to go after the extreme winter.  We are seeing great participation this year as it seems a lot of guys have good young hounds coming up after a good hunting season (in PA anyway).
