In my first blog post I reviewed the five basic types of e-collars available at Lion Country Supply, and in the second blog post I reviewed selecting the best training e-collar for your dog. Today I continue this e-collar series with a post about tracking e-collars, considered by many to be the ultimate in the entire e-collar line up.
E-collars which are also known as remote collars are operated remotely with a handheld controller. While many people consider e-collars nothing more than a shock collar used to correct bad pet behavior, e-collars have greater uses beyond behavior correction. Location tracking is one of those uses. Over the next few weeks we'll be doing a short article series on e-collars.

Hi, I'm Eric with Lion Country Supply. I'm here today to introduce you to the all-new Garmin Alpha TT15 Mini bundle and the Garmin Alpha TT15 extra collar. Customers tell us all the time here at Lion Country Supply that the existing TT15 is a little large and heavy for smaller breeds. Well Garmin has solved that problem with the TT15 Mini.
Garmin had sent prototype first run samples of the new PRO models to select dealers a few weeks ago. I have had a chance to tryout the new PRO550. I currently use a Tri-Tronics Pro500 to train my 4 year old Lab Billey for AKC hunt tests. The 2 systems are very similar in operation Continue reading?
I was lucky to get a chance to field test the new Garmin Tri-Tronics PRO 70 on a few of my beagles. I was very impressed with the feel of the transmitter which is very simple to the G3 Classic I have used for years. The toggle switch which changes the button setup has the collar colors shown opposed to a circle and a dot, which in my opinion is easier to tell what collars you are transmitting to. The PRO 70 also comes with a bark limiter, this alone is one feature that I have always wished someone added onto one of the training systems.
The PRO Trashbreaker is now the longest range remote collar with an unprecedented 4 mile line of sight range. Using the Garmin Alpha 100 we found this unbelievable claim to be true although we did our test in the field without line of sight. The PRO Trashbreaker works off of a different radio signal from Continue reading?
October 2013 after the first day of our general small game season as we were standing around a beautiful campfire, I slipped and suffered a dislocated ankle and a fairly serious break to my lower leg. As you can imagine, I was out of commission for pretty much the whole season. Although, I did get Continue reading?

The Garmin DC50 collar incorporates the best parts of the last 3 collar designs including the TT10 Alpha collar. The DC50 looks very similar to the TT10 without the contact points.
