    Garmin Bark Limiter Deluxe

    • Garmin Bark Limiter Deluxe

The Garmin BarkLimiter Deluxe Rechargeable Bark collar utilizes the latest electronic technology to immediately determine when your dog is barking and provides instantaneous bark correction, while distinguishing between other noises that may result in unwanted corrections. It corrects for obsessive or nuisance barking but allows the dog to communicate injury or bark to protect your home from an intruder without activating the device.

      Garmin Bark Limiter Deluxe Features:

      Auto-rise Stimulation

Auto-rise comes preset right out of the box ready for training your dog; it starts at the lowest correction level and gradually adjusts to a level to stop unwanted barking without rising further. This way you do not have to go through the task of testing levels to see what your dog needs.

      Bark Odometer

You can also switch from automatic to manual settings. Built-in Bark Odometer helps determine the effectiveness of the manual correction level by counting the number of barks while you are away.

      Manual Setting

The BarkLimiter has 7 manual settings to choose from. Direct setting of a level will give the same amount of stimulation every time your dog barks, no matter the amount of times your dog barks. You can use the Bark Odometer to determine if the setting you are using is the correct one. You might have to raise the setting if the Bark Odometer is showing that your dog is barking through the setting.

      Sleep Mode

When your BarkLimiter is motionless for a short period of time it drops into Sleep Mode. This will help to save the battery power when the unit is not needed. The sleep mode will even work when removing the BarkLimiter from your dog while leaving the mode or level selected without draining the battery.

Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery with Battery Strength Indicator

The rechargeable Li-ion battery on the BarkLimiter Deluxe lasts up to 3 months on full charge. This may vary depending on what stimulation settings you use, how much your dog barks while wearing the collar, and how many hours a day your dog is wearing the collar. The Battery Strength Indicator light will tell you the condition of the battery. Green, means “good,” yellow means “charge” and red means “dead.” You will still be able to operate the collar when the yellow mode is on, but you will need to charge the unit as soon as possible. When the red mode light is on, the unit will not work at all.

      Dial Settings

The Garmin BarkLimiter has an external dial that is used to set the mode or stimulation levels for the collar. Settings include:
      N – Off Position
      V – Vibration Mode
      A – Auto-rise
1 through 7 – Manual setting of levels (1 is the lowest stimulation level, 7 is the strongest)

Garmin Bark Limiter Deluxe In The Box

    • Garmin Bark Limiter Deluxe FAQ

With the collar on, can the dog drink water without the shock? What about chewing a bone?
Dogs can eat, drink and chew on bones without issue. If they whine, growl, howl or bark the collar will correct them but ordinary activities should be fine.

How long does one charge last?
The rechargeable Li-ion battery on the BarkLimiter Deluxe lasts up to 3 months on full charge. This may vary depending on what stimulation settings you use, how often your dog barks while wearing the collar, and how many hours a day your dog is wearing the collar. The BarkLimiter also has a sleep mode, where the collar goes into a battery saving mode when it does not sense dog movement for a length of time.

      Is the Garmin BarkLimiter Waterproof?
Yes, the Garmin Bark Limiter Deluxe is waterproof with a rating of IPX7, meaning that it can withstand exposure to water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. Even though the BarkLimiter is water proof, we do not suggest allowing your dog to swim while wearing a BarkLimiter collar.

Will the Garmin BarkLimiter Shock the dog that has the collar on if other dogs in my kennel are barking?
The BarkLimiter Deluxe detects bark signals solely through vibrations from a dog’s throat. This virtually eliminates false corrections caused by scratching or scraping, of surfaces, or other noises like the barks of nearby dogs (as in a kennel situation). In addition, BarkLimiter Deluxe has been designed to recognize qualitative differences in barking. It corrects for obsessive or nuisance barking but allows the dog to communicate injury or bark to protect your home from an intruder without activating the device.

How do I replace the Bark Limiter Deluxe’s battery?

First you need to purchase the replacement battery assembly, then follow the following steps to replace the battery.

      1. Remove the four security screws from the corners of the device.
      2. Lift up the battery assembly.
      3. Discount the battery connector from the device.
      4. With the new battery assembly, connect the battery connector to the device.
      5. Verify that the gasket is not damaged and that it is completely seated in the groove.
      6. Hold the battery assembly and the device firmly together, and replace all four security screws without tightening.
      7. Verify that the battery assembly and the device are aligned with no gaps.
      8. Tighten the screws evenly.

How do I check the battery level of my Bark Limiter Deluxe?

First step is to rotate the dial away from “N”. The color of the status LED indicates the battery charge level for five seconds. Green means that the battery has a good charge. Yellow means that the battery should be charged or replaced soon. Red means that the battery should be charged or replaced immediately. Bark correction features will be disabled when battery indicator is at red status.

How do I check the Bark Odometer?

      1. Remove the device from the dog.
      2. Position the device so that you can see the status LED.
      3. Rotate the dial to “N”.
      4. Count the red and green flashes. Red flash equals 10 barks and a green flash equals 1 bark.

When it comes to Garmin tracking collars, we have seen a many different variants over the years. Starting with the DC20 way back in 2007, we have since seen the DC30, DC40, DC50, and then finally the T5 family of collars. For the last decade the T5 has been the go-to tracking collars for Garmin GPS systems. This is all about to change with the introduction of the Garmin T20 Tracking Collar.
