Although George has more than 100 field trial placements to his name, the focus of his training is for the walking upland bird hunter. New to his training methods on this DVD is his addition of using clicker training and positive reinforcement along with low-level stimulation for e-collar conditioning.
There are two segments of the video: yard work and field work. The yard work introduces his new techniques with clicker and e-collar, plus beginning obedience commands and handling fundamentals. The field work portion provides information on introducing pups to birds and guns, pointing and backing drills, and keeping a dog within gun range.
George has guided wild bird hunts all over the U.S., has trained numerous dogs at the George Hickox School of Dog Training, he is the Hunting Dog Editor for Shooting Sportsman magazine, and a regular contributing columnist for Pointing Dog Journal and Retriever Journal.
