"Take care of your feet and they'll take care of you?, anyone with a working or hunting dogknows the truthof that statement. At Lion Country Supply wecarry a variety of products to help condition, toughen, heal and protect your dogs feet throughout the season. Here is a breakdown of their attributes and how they can help you and your dogs throughout the season.

  1. Tuf-Foot? If you use itdaily for a couple ofweeks, then 2-3 times per week as maintenanceyoucan keep sensitive pads in excellent condition. The formulawill stain so I apply it outside before training or hunting, itdries very quickly and doing it this way I haven't had any problems. It'sguaranteed to toughen soft, tender pads as well as protect them from cracking, bruises and soreness. It is also a proven healing agent for cuts and scratches.Tut-Foot can be used on all domestic animals and humans and theformula contains no harmful chemicals. Size:8 oz.
  2. Mushers Secret - Originally developedfor use with sled dogs, it provides tenacious protection even in the most extreme conditions.Use in summer to protect against hot pavement, sand, and sand burn. Use in winter to protect against snow, ice, roadsalt and cracking pads. As soon as there is any snow on the ground Musher's Secret is a part of every hunt for me and my dog. Snow packing between a dogs toes quickly becomes ice and will eventually spread out the dogs toes causingirritation, sores and cuts. With Mushers Secret a dense wax barrier forms a breathable bond with your dog's paws. This semi-permeable shield is absorbed into the paws, allowing perspiration to escape through the toe. It's safe, natural, and made from a blend of several food-grade waxes, including Viatmin E. Available in 60g or 200g container.
  3. Bag Balm " true classic produced in Vermont for over 100 years. You can use Bag Balm after a day of hunting topromote healing of cuts and scrapes on dogs and people. It goes on fast?and stays on! Choose from 1oz or 8oz. Container
  4. Pad Heal "ad Heal offers superb protection for hunting, working, racing or endurance dogs. It conditions, repairs, and strengthens any splits in pads or webbing and creates a germ and water resistant barrier. I appreciate that Pad heal won't wash off in water or wet conditions. Itcan also be used as a conditioner to prevent injury or damage to the paws. I applied Pad Healdaily leading up to hunting season last year and experiences far fewer issue with my dogs feet until the snow startedat thatpoint I switched over to Musher's Secret. It comes with a brush applicator to apply and work into the dogs paws. Make sure you do this outside and give it time to dry properly in order toprevent staining.Size:8 oz.

As the season progresses amulti-faceted approach is usually themost effective. This year I've addedTuf-Foot into our training program and hope that wereap the benefits of the preseason conditioning while hunting season is in full swing. If you are hunting in areas where you are dealing withgoat heads, sand burrs and cactus you'll definitely want to adda good pair of dog bootsto your hunting and training kit.You can check those outright here.
