You will Learn:
The Rick Smith Bird Dog Seminar (for all breeds of sporting dogs, including pointers, retrievers and flushers) will take you through every step necessary to develop your dog from playful puppy to mature, responsive and responsible bird dog.
Seminar Highlights:
The Seminar begins with a slide presentation on Friday evening designed to overview the training process. Saturday and Sunday are spent all day in the field with you and your dog practicing traing techniques that have been used for over 80 years by Rick, his father, Delmar Smith, and his grandfather, Dutch Epperson .(Inclement weather will bring the Seminar indoors for lecture, demonstration and slides.) Opportunity for individual counseling insures that every step is mastered before moving on to more advanced work. Areas to be covered are: laying the proper foundation, yard and field training, preventing and correcting faults, bird work, natural and force retrieving, and using both the checkcord and electronic collar.
What to Bring:
- Your dog and a water bowl
- Lawn chair
- Wonder lead and checkcord (20-30 feet)
- Waterproof boots and a jacket (Weather can be fickle; anything from 35 degrees in the morning to 75 degress in the afternoon so dress appropriately)
- Gloves; leather is best
Guarantee:
“I guarantee you will agree this was a worthwhile weekend or I’ll refund your money. I look forward to meeting all of you at the seminar”
