I recently purchase a Tri-Tronics Sport Upland G3 and am extremely pleased with it. It got it because I was constantly loosing sight of my little Springer in heavy grouse cover. With the Sport Upland I can turn the beeper off and then use the on/off button to activate the beeper and instantly locate the dog.
An unexpected benefit is that as soon as the locate beeper sounds my dog immediately returns to me. I them turn the beeper off and re-cast her. This save a great deal of time-not to mention the aggravation and noise of whistling and calling.
The Sport Upland’s 10 levels of stimulation make it well suited for any dog. It’s expandable to three dogs and very simple to to program and operate. The new smaller transmitter is much more user friendly than the older style tube units.
I enjoy my unit and feel it is well worth the investment.
