The Garmin Astro DC30 extra collars are discontinued by Garmin and no longer available, and at Lion Country Supply we’re completely sold out.
Take a look at the new Astro DC40 extra collar. LCS Staff Members have been using the new DC40 collar extensively few months and we have been very impressed with its performance. Significant changes between the DC30 and DC40 collars are:
• Longer antenna provides additional range
• Collar strap on the DC40 is now easy to replace
• You can add an e-collar to the DC40 collar strap
• Improved charging system eliminates debris issues
• Up to 48 hour battery life per charge
• Up to nine mile range when used with Astro 320
• Collar lock feature stops others from monitoring your dogs
Initial issues with the DC40 collar from last year have been well addressed by Garmin and it performs equally as well , even better, than the original DC30 collar. We have used the DC40 collars in the field extensively, as have many of our customers, and are now very satisfied with its performance.

The new and improved DC 30, in combination with the Astro 220, pinpoints your dog’s position every 5 seconds and runs for 17-36 hours. This new low-profile model moves the antenna underneath the collar. You can extend the battery life of the DC30 collar by changing the position transmit rate from 5 to 10 or 30 seconds, enabling the DC30 to work up to 36 hours in the field on one charge. You will know if your dog is pointing, sitting, moving or treeing. Where it’s at. Where it’s been. How fast it’s moving and how far it’s gone, and in which direction it is heading, allowing you to get ahead of the chase!
Up to 9 extra collars can be used on the Astro for a total of 10 dogs (including the collar that came with the unit). A vehicle and wall charger is included with each collar.
